What We're Looking For

The FAO Schwarz Fellowship is an intensive, transformative two-year experience in the world of social impact that includes focused professional development. The Fellows have always been highly motivated and passionate recent college graduates who are committed to social change and social justice  leadership.

Successful candidates have demonstrated leadership in their college communities and have a proven record of academic excellence. They seek to immerse themselves in an experience that will challenge them, train them and empower them to become leaders in the world of social impact.

How to Apply

Applications open in early November when we announce new Fellowship positions and hosts. The application requires a cover letter, responses to a few simple questions, and a résumé.

Host organizations screen résumés and applications, conduct all interviews with candidates, and ultimately select their Fellow. Finalists will be notified in April, and Fellows are selected by the end of April.

We encourage you to learn as much as possible about the host organizations and review the Fellowship positions that interest you carefully before applying.

Online Info Sessions

We host online info sessions and “Ask Me Anything” events throughout the year for interested students and college and career services advisers who want to learn more about the Fellowships. We strongly urge prospective Fellows to attend an info session.

The new schedule for the 2023-2024 info sessions will be announced in May.

Applications for the 2023 cohort are now closed. Applications or the 2024 cohort will open on Novemeber 1, 2023 when we announced new host organizations.
