“The Fellowship launched my career into the nonprofit sector..”

The FAO Schwarz Fellowship launched my career into the nonprofit sector.

Before I began my position at Jumpstart for Young Children, I had studied to be a classroom teacher. By my final year of college, I realized that I still wanted to impact children in need, but not in a formal classroom setting. I knew that if I was lucky enough to become an FAO Schwarz  Fellow, I would gain incredible experiences and tools to have a successful career that was different than what I had originally envisioned for myself.

I am now working at the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, coordinating all aspects of a large community program. The networking and leadership skills I was able to gain through the fellowship’s trainings, as well as the resources I learned from other Fellows has been extremely beneficial to my career and has enabled me to continue on a successful path in this field.
